Scenario

I have an Order with two duplicate Order Extended Properties. Do I need to delete one, or how will Linnworks handle it?

Solution

Duplicate Order Extended Properties can occur for several reasons. One is downloading the same property from the channel and assigning it via the Rules Engine with a different value or type. Another reason is merging orders. If the Merge order extended properties setting is enabled in Settings > General Settings > Order Management, properties from both orders will be downloaded into the merged order, which can cause duplicates.

Previously, duplicate properties made label printing difficult and required manual removal. Now, the first value will be used, and the second will be ignored.

What does it look like in practice?

Here is a quick test to show how this will look. One of the merged orders has a duplicate MARKETPLACE_IOSS Order Extended Property:

The only difference is the value; the name and type are the same.

When printing a label, the first value (Testing) will be used, and the second (TestingNewValue) will be ignored.
